Insight Design Solutions' Philosophy
Some people think good design is a subjective term. At IDS, we believe that good design is evident no matter who is viewing it. Design is a powerful communication medium. It sells products, revolutionizes industries, sparks ideas, and incites debate. Good design concepts surround us; it just requires knowing where to look. Design is found in both natural and man-made products. At IDS, we acquire inspiration from everywhere and we relish in the fact that we still rely on sound traditional design techniques to allow us to find true innovation in all its forms and possibilities.
Our Work Processes:
- We believe all projects should begin with a pencil and pad, not a computer mouse and screen.
- We firmly believe in the tried-and-true method of thumbnail creation. Sketching various ideas on paper before enhancing on the computer screen encourages free association, leading to greater creativity.
- We believe that graphic design has the ability to conjure emotion. When your clients experience an emotional connection to your logo or publication, etc., then they will want to learn more about your company.
- We believe in paying close attention to all details—both large and small.
Here are some tips on recognizing design that is produced well:
Often people can tell when something is designed poorly, but if you receive the communicative message before you see the design, you are witnessing graphic design at its best!
Consider the whole point of design: to provoke an emotional response. Now, look at the logo or design piece that represents your company. What kind of
an emotional response do you think your audience is receiving?
At IDS, we strive to create design that communicates first and is aesthetically pleasing second. Because a design that looks good might attract some attention, but then what does it say once it is noticed? Good design is multi-layered, not just topical.
